Egy 35 éves moldovai férfit február 3-án tartóztattak le a Vatikánban, miután megpróbált bejutni a Szent Péter-bazilikába, ahol gázöngyújtókat és gyúlékony anyagokat szállított. A hatóságok szerint gyújtogatásra készült. A férfit kapcsolatba hozták a Róma központjában lévő templomokban nemrégiben történt tűzesetekkel és egy korábbi, 2024-ben egy kórház ellen elkövetett gyújtogatási kísérlettel.
